If you are heading to Victoria Island to greet the brigades it is best to take the bus because cars and trucks will have a heck of a time getting there. Park at any municipal park and ride and take one of the OC Transpo buses (I think for free). Here is a google map for those that park at the Baseline Station park and ride: https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/Baseline+Station,+1400+Woodroffe+Ave,+Nepean,+ON+K2G+0B5/Victoria+Island,+Ottawa,+ONfirstname.lastname@example.org,-75.7793438,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x4cce072276c281eb:0xfa91de1a5e500976!2m2!1d-75.7617287!2d45.347759!1m5!1m1!1s0x4cce0459a4bf3019:0xe68447b5e699b78!2m2!1d-75.7122185!2d45.4211322

When the South Wind Brigade left Smiths Falls, it was via Old Sly’s Lock. Here they are moving out of the lock and heading for open water.
Olivia Enns shared a photo album with us that shows the brigade as it arrives at, navigates through, and departs the Kilmarnock Locks near Smiths Falls Ontario. There are a bunch of pictures of the team members that you won’t want to miss if you or a loved one was on the journey.

These shots have most, if not all, of the Canoes of the South Wind Brigade, including some great photos where people are “sailing” their canoes. There are a few camping pictures too. Many thanks to David Cherry for sharing these with us!

I was just talking to Max’s wife and she tells me that the brigade got safely to their destination last night in Newboro despite the storms. They are off to Perth today. Their itinerary can be found at https://fourwindsbrigade.wordpress.com/south-wind-itinerary/.
We hope your journeys are progressing safely and successfully as planned. If any of you wish to post photos, videos or status updates, please let us know using the contact link at https://fourwindsbrigade.wordpress.com/contact-2/ and we will do our best to get them up on this site for others to enjoy.
Safe and happy paddling
