Why we paddle

There are nearly 200 paddlers and support people travelling in the Four Winds Brigades. One of the pleasures of the week will be getting to know our fellow travellers.
Fred Stark, a member of the Blue Heron crew who is coming from British Columbia wrote, “For me, this paddle is celebrating my 80th year.  It also is of special significance for me, as I was part of the Confederation ‘Centennial’ Train for Canada’s 100, fifty years ago. I am very much looking forward to the South Winds Brigade and meeting you all.”  Fred is also the bannock man for the South Wind Brigade, combining his recipe and skill to produce bannock on Max’s well used and loved camp frying pan.
Why are you paddling with our Brigade?
Thank You , Liz Elton, Captain of the Blue Herons, for this entry.
